Why i Create my own DIY Skin Care Products

Why i Create my own DIY Skin Care Products

Kim, who talks us through her transition from using off-the-shelf cosmetic brands for treating her skin ailments, to eventually creating her very own 100% natural DIY skincare creams.

Kim’s Background

Kim, who is a mother of 3 teenage children, says she always struggled with her skin after having kids:

I always felt self-conscious about the stretch marks I acquired through multiple pregnancies, and as a result lost the body confidence to wear bikinis on family vacations.”

“I also began to notice the effects of raising three kids and working full time as I passed through my thirties and into my forties. Both the wrinkles on my forehead and the bags under my eyes began to worsen, and it got to the point where I wanted to rejuvenate my skin, and get that glow back that I hadn’t had in years.”

Buying Well Known Cosmetic Brands is not resolving problems.

At this point Kim turned to many of the well-known cosmetic brands to try a range of anti-ageing creams that promised to reduce the visibility of wrinkles and give back the glow to her skin she so desperately craved.

But she quickly ran into issues:

I had several problems with their formulas. The first one I tried had many synthetic chemicals and I had a minor allergic reaction, ending up with a red and blotchy face! The others I tried didn’t cause a reaction, but left my face with a horrible greasy shine in my T-zone. Testing these products was a very expensive process and yet none of them seemed to work for me!

When it came to the stretchmark creams, nothing seemed to make any progress, despite months of use.

I also a had several ethical issues with these products. Like many people, I love animals, and some formulas did contain animal-derived retinol. I am a big believer is cruelty-free products and these products did not provide what I was looking for in terms of ethical standards.”

From Regular Cosmetics to 100% Natural – how to make your own line of skin care products.

After having such a poor experience with the big brands, Kim turned to the internet to try and find a solution that :

a) worked for her skin

b) was 100% natural – no nasty chemicals or animal products.

That’s when I discovered a range of 100% natural ingredients. I decided to delve straight in and start making my own formulations.

I created my own body cream for my stretch marks by combining the Raw Natural Mango Butter with the Indian Sandalwood Essential Oil, and an anti-aging cream for my face with a Mango Butter and Rose Essential Oil blend.”

By combining the anti-aging properties of the all-natural vitamin A found in Rose Oil with moisturizing properties of Shea Butter, Kim started to witness real results:

My wrinkles were finally becoming less noticeable, my bags visibly improved and I also benefited from the infused Jojoba oil which finally put a stop to my seemingly forever greasy T-zone. My friends began asking me what I was using to give me such a glow!”

Finally, with the anti-scarring properties of both cocoa butter and the healing properties of the Sandalwood Oil, Kim also started to see results with her stretch marks:

Finally, after a gap of over 10 years, I was comfortable wearing a bikini again. My new cream didn’t just hide my stretch marks by making them less visible, they genuinely started to heal and reduce, allowing me to use less and less of my homemade formulation as time went on.”

“Also i learned that the aging process is something fraught with anxiety and dread for many. However, by educating yourself on ways in which to cope with the changes aging can bring, you will be fully prepared to handle anything that comes your way. The tips included in this article can be of tremendous help to just about everyone.

As you age, don’t worry about numbers. You can drive yourself crazy constantly thinking about how much you weigh, how much smaller you are getting and how old you are. Keep less focus on the numbers and more focus on making the most of your life.”

Final Thoughts

Kim’s experience is one of many women who have decided to harness the power of 100% natural plant-based ingredients by making their own creations. These natural formulations have been around for centuries, but it hasn’t been until recently that people have begun to realize the benefits that they can bring to their skin.

Mango Butter Benefits:

In skin care, we flock to mango butter for its moisturizing essential fatty acids. It’s rich in oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated omega-9 acid; and stearic acid, a saturated fatty acid. These are ingredients that the skin readily recognizes, takes up, and uses to help add moisture to the skin as it tightens and firms the appearance of skin.

Here are some of the other ways mango benefits skin:

Because it’s rich in vitamin C, mango butter can help encourage a more plump and tighter look. It also promotes a firmer appearance on skin.

Vitamin A is one of the natural ingredients that encourages a revitalized, glowing look. Since mango butter is a natural source of vitamin A, it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and increasing skin’s overall youthful look.

Dry patches, flakiness, and even sensitive skin can benefit from daily application of mango butter, which goes to work deeply moisturizing. Oh, and don’t forget your lips—mango butter works great as a lip balm.

Mango butter provides a more lasting type of moisturization, which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles down the line.

This is a great perk with mango butter—when you apply it to your skin you carry around an extra bit of protection. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear sun protection, though!

Mango butter helps soothe skin.

don’t take our word for it. try it!

All this, yet mango butter is gentle on skin, and perfectly suitable for sensitive skin.
